A sophisticated couple desired the perfect garden tailored to their sociable lifestyles.
Having downsized and relocated to Hampshire following their birds leaving the nest, our clients were beginning an exciting new chapter.

What was once an old, derelict barn had been tastefully renovated into a stylish and artistic home.

We wanted to extend their interior design aesthetic into the garden, whilst being sympathetic to the landscape and history of the old farm complex.

We wanted to create depth, continuity and flow between the indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.

Inspired by the Victorian tiles in the kitchen, we incorporated this adaptable porcelain material into our hard landscaping.

The geometric patterns and pastel grey palette paired elegantly with the white rendered walls for a clean, contemporary look.
​
Lavender, Agapanthus, Festuca and Salvia contrast against the pastel tiles with their vibrant hues.

These frothy blooms border the entertaining areas offering soothing scents as you brush past.
The old Oak and Magnolia trees that once dominated the garden became integrated in our design as visual cues to guide you through the landscape.

An attractive parterre mirrors the property's formal layout, connecting the traditional cottage façade of the property to the modern barn extension.

Its elegant, geometric design mirrors the patterned Victorian tiles offering structural interest from the garden's elevations.

A central Bay tree with surrounding Lavender and herb planting evokes the parterre's interesting historical connection with Herberies and Physic Gardens.

The parterre's highly practical design enables access from all angles for easy maintenance.

Dissolving lawn steps seamlessly integrate the hard and soft landscaping.

They work with the multi-levelled terrain allowing us to protect the vast underground network of old tree roots.
This aesthetically pleasing design softens the transition between the terrace and lawn.
Where the formal lawn blends into the garden's natural boundaries, we designed a a picturesque pond.

The meadow setting and orchard landscape is a perfect haven for wildlife to inhabit.
This tranquil spot receives the evening sunshine and offers views towards the parterre and entertaining area from the jetty.
